Once the MRI coil is returned to the customer with issues or provides poor images. The repair facility will look for other issues to fix, when none are found, they then will attempt to retune the coil. This is also another bad idea, as each coil and coils’ components are tuned at the OEM and any changing of the tuning will have a direct effect on the images produced from that part. Once the tuning is changed, it is quite difficult to get it back to what the OEM had produced. This is a crucial issue with many of the repair facilities offering repairs. The FDA approval was given to the medical device, as it was manufactured by the OEM. Once re-tuning and/or incorrect component changes occur, the device is no longer what was approved by the FDA.
